State Law Enforcement
The Virginia State Police is working hard in their everyday lives to make our lives better. Over the years, Virginia State Law Enforcement professionals have been increasingly aware of the importance of community crime prevention. Our officers are constantly attempting to protect our rights and remain lawful in the process. New technologies and advances such as the GPS and communication systems have improved our state law enforcement. Some of these safety improvements in our police departments are body armor and less-lethal projectiles. NIJ (National Institute of Justice) promotes and creates the effectiveness of safety; NIJ also decides the standards of body armor. Despite all of these technologies more criminals are utilizing modern technology, thus law enforcement must be prepared for these technologies. The NIJ is researching for new technology for the state police department. NIJ helps to make new technologies available for police departments. The Commonwealth of Virginia's technologies have helped the process of how the law enforcement agencies are managed. All 50 state law enforcement agencies work equally hard to protect and serve our citizens.
